Madame B: Explorations in Emotional Capitalism

The first installment opened in the Polish city of Łódź, in the oldest museum for modern art in the world, the Muzeum Sztuki. It was curated by Katarzyna Słoboda, coordinated by Przemek Purtak, and wholeheartedly supported by the museum’s director, Jarosłwaw Suchan. The installation was done by the international installation firm Eidotech, which is a guarantee for the best exhibition possible. A short video gives an impression of the space of the exhibition.

The academic Journal Text Matters published an interview held during the set-up for the exhibition by Dorota Filipczak,interview.pdf
and then an extensive article on the exhibition and the video work Madame B placed in the context of exhibiting the work in Łódź in view of the city’s history. This was also written by Dorota Filipczak, framing_madame_b.pdf.
